3Overview
The Shell Energy Transition Scholarships will fund three scholarships supporting widening access to students embarking on their Year 1 or 2 of study. The scholarships will offer three undergraduate RGU students with up to £4000 per annum for the duration of a four-year undergraduate degree course.
The award is available to subjects of study with a discipline in Accounting, Business, Engineering, or Energy. To be eligible, students must be Scottish domiciled and classed as a ‘home fees student’.
- 1 eligible undergraduate student in Stage 1 will receive £1,000 in first year, £2,000 in second year, £3,000 in third year, and £4,000 in their fourth year for the duration of a four-year undergraduate degree from the eligible courses.
- 2 eligible undergraduate students in Stage 2 will receive £2,500 for their second and third years, and £3,750 in their fourth year for the duration of their undergraduate degree from the eligible courses.

Other Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for this bursary, students must:
- Hold a conditional offer for a full-time place on one of the degree programmes RGU have on offer for September 2025 entry,
- Be Scottish domiciled and classified as a ‘home fees student’,
- Have not already obtained a first degree,
- Meet RGU’s widening access criteria or have a household income of less than £33,999.
