Malaysia

Entry Requirements
Please note that this information is intended as a guideline and allows you to broadly compare your qualifications to the British qualifications specified on the course pages of this website. Some courses may require a higher standard of English than stated in this page. Applications are considered on an individual basis and other qualifications or work experience may be taken into consideration.
Undergraduate Requirements
- Applicants with a post high school qualification (i.e. a higher national diploma, an associate degree) can be considered for advanced entry to some undergraduate courses
- Students with qualifications from any international high school are expected to have results comparable to students from UK institutions

- Applicants who do not hold an International High School qualification will be expected to undertake a pathway programme at our International College
Year 1 entry
- Students who hold the STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia/Malaysian Higher School Certificate, equivalent to UK A Level) - CGPA 2.33 or C+
- Students who have completed the Matrikulasi (Matriculation certificate equivalent to UK A Level) - CGPA 2.33 or C+
- Students with the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC to SQA Highers) Senior Middle Level with grade of B6 or 60% or above considered for entry to year 1
Year 2 entry
- Students who hold the STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia/Malaysian Higher School Certificate equivalent to UK A Level) - CGPA 3.33 or B+
- Students who have completed the Matrikulasi (Matriculation certificate equivalent to UK A Level) - CGPA 3.33 or B+
English Language
Most undergraduate courses require an IELTS score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each area. Some courses require a higher English language score. Always check the relevant course page and our English Language Requirements page before applying.
We accept students with SPM 1119 English with Grade C or above.
Postgraduate Requirements
- Bachelors Degree (equivalent to UK Hons Degree) with a Second Class degree or CGPA 2.67 out of 4 / Class 2 division ii / B- / 60-64 %
- Applicants with a Graduate Certificate / Graduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma will be considered on a case by case basis
- A small number of University postgraduate programmes do require a minimum of second class upper classification, or an equivalent - refer to the relevant course page
- Applicants with lower qualification and / or relevant work experience will be considered on a case by case basis. Contact Admissions for information: admissions@rgu.ac.uk
- Students who do not meet our direct entry requirements may be able to undertake a pre-masters programme through our International College at Robert Gordon University
