RGU SPORT has launched a golf scholarship programme, the first of its kind in North East Scotland. This opportunity will support promising golfers to develop their talents, compete in a calendar of events and access a network of professionals.

Overview

The Robert Gordon University Golf Scholarship aims to assist with the development and promotion of golfing excellence for students. This scholarship is designed to support talented golfers to balance their academic studies with their passion for golf, providing them with the resources and opportunities to excel both on the course and in the classroom.

With thanks to generous support from The Gym Rental Company, the Golf Scholarship Programme will offer aspiring student athletes comprehensive support, including:

  • High Level Competition: compete at the highest level in student golf through BUCS and R&A competitions.
  • State of the art Facilities: access to world-class golf courses and training equipment.
  • Academic Excellence: balance your passion for golf with a high-quality education.
  • Community & Networking: join a vibrant community of like-minded athletes and professionals.

In addition, financial assistance is awarded to support travel, training, equipment and competition expenses accrued during the academic year.

Other Requirements

To be eligible for the RGU Golf Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Have an unconditional offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at Robert Gordon University, or be in the process of applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course.
  • Be a talented golfer with high potential.
  • Hold a golf profile in a national sports competition at junior level or beyond.

How to Apply

Application Process

Applications are open between May-August, and are currently closed.

Interested students will be asked to complete an application form by 1 August 2025.

Applications will be reviewed by the RGU Golf Scholarship Advisory Board by 31 September. Following shortlisting, successful applicants will be invited to a panel interview and/or practice round with advisory panel members.
