International Students Emergency Fund
The International Students’ Emergency Fund has been provided by the Scottish Government to assist international students who are facing financial hardship as a direct result of global conflicts.

The fund aims to help students with basic living costs such as food, utilities and rent. Students must be able to demonstrate they are in financial difficulty and provide evidence of having applied to the Home Office for a form of leave or extension of right to stay in the UK.
The fund is not available to support the payment of tuition fees.

Other Requirements
To be eligible, students must:
- have applied to the Home Office for a form of leave or extension of right to stay in the UK ie Ukraine Extension Scheme, asylum seekers, students with limited leave to remain, etc
- be registered and attending an RGU course
- have exhausted all other possible sources of funding available to them
- be able to prove they are in financial difficulty
How to Apply
Application forms and all supporting documentation must be uploaded to AskRGU.
Closing date for applications for session 2024-25 is 13 June 2025. Applications received after this date will not be considered. Applications can take up to 4-6 weeks to be considered.
Interview
Students may be asked to attend a short interview to discuss their situation.
