Spend the weekend ‘Drawing with Stitch’ with an embroidery workshop. Participants will complete this course with an understanding of how to sew over a dozen different embroidery stitches that can be used in a variety of ways. Using the techniques learnt during the workshop you will create an individual embroidered artwork.
Throughout the weekend, participants will learn how to draw with stitch using a variety of embroidery stitching techniques which involve; outline, border, detached and filling stitches.
Whilst developing your own sample of stitch techniques, Camban Studio will also share with you several examples of work created by inspirational stitch artists working with such techniques.
Following this, you will be introduced to both concepts of colour and composition. You are then invited to design your own composition using the techniques learnt.
Together you will plan your own designs with the aim to produce your own embroidered artwork. The workshop will finish with a group feedback session reflecting on the artworks you have individually created.

Camban Studio
Camban Studio was founded in 2018 by designer Fiona Hall. The name originates from the designers family Clan ‘Chisholm’ who owned the land that surrounded the Camban Bothy during the 15th to mid 19th centuries.
Inspired by the natural beauty of her own home landscape in Scotland, Hall continues to share her passion for design using colour, texture, print and pattern. She combines these with beautiful materials to both design and construct local products from her studio which is part of the Deemouth Artist Studios based in Torry, Aberdeen.
