What attracted you to your course at RGU?
During my undergraduate studies, I discovered a particular fascination for natural resources law. RGU offers the specialized LLM program that aligned perfectly with my area of interest. The course offered in-depth modules covering the various aspects of the subject matter, providing me with the opportunity to explore it from multiple angles.
Additionally, RGU's emphasis on practical skills and experiential learning greatly appealed to me. The university provides numerous opportunities for students to engage in real-world legal scenarios, such as moot court competitions, internships, and legal clinics. This practical exposure not only enhances the learning experience but also equips students with the skills and confidence necessary to excel in their future legal careers.
Before coming to RGU, what were your expectations? And now that you are here, have your experiences differed?
Before coming to RGU, I approached my LLM journey with an open mind and a sense of excitement for the new experiences and opportunities that awaited me. While I did have certain expectations based on my research and interactions with the university, I was also aware that the actual experiences may differ from what I had envisioned. Now that I am here, I can confidently say that my experiences at RGU have far exceeded my initial expectations.
My experiences at RGU have gone above and beyond my initial expectations. The supportive learning environment, practical exposure, diverse community, and comprehensive support services have all contributed to a fulfilling and enriching LLM journey. Coming to RGU with an open mind has allowed me to embrace the opportunities presented and make the most of my time here.
What's the best thing about being an RGU student?
The best thing about being an RGU student is the immersive and enriching learning experience that the university offers. RGU provides a dynamic and supportive environment that fosters both academic and personal growth. This encourages holistic learning experience that combines high-quality education, practical exposure, a diverse community, and comprehensive support services.
The professors and lecturers at RGU are experts in their respective fields, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom. They are not only passionate about their subjects but also genuinely invested in their students' success. The faculty members are approachable, supportive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that students receive the guidance and resources they need to excel in their studies.
Describe your favourite memory of RGU so far?
My favourite memory of RGU is attending a guest lecture by an expert in Oil and Gas Law. RGU regularly hosts guest lectures by prominent legal professionals, academics, and industry experts, providing students with valuable insights and exposure to current trends and developments in the legal field.
What made this memory special was the chance to engage in meaningful discussions with the speaker and fellow students. The lecture sparked intellectual curiosity and fostered a sense of enthusiasm for the subject matter. It provided a platform to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and explore different viewpoints, creating a dynamic and enriching learning environment.
Tell us about your most challenging/rewarding project/assignment/module. What did you like/ dislike about it and how has it helped you?
One of the most rewarding projects I undertook during my program was a presentation on the topic of "Explain the Requirements found in Article 12 of the Proposed Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings Relating to Infrastructure for Sustainable Mobility." This project allowed me to showcase my knowledge and skills. What I liked most about this project was the opportunity to explore the intersection of energy performance in buildings and sustainable mobility. This enabled me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the topic and strengthened my research and analytical skills. The experience boosted my confidence, validated my knowledge, and reinforced my commitment to working towards a more sustainable future.
What is your favourite way to spend your time when you are not studying? Why is that important to you?
One of my favourite ways to spend my leisure time is by connecting with the people who are important to me. Whether it's spending quality time with family members, catching up with close friends, or engaging in meaningful conversations with loved ones, these interactions bring me joy and a sense of fulfilment.
Watching movies is another favourite pastime of mine. I enjoy immersing myself in captivating stories, diverse genres, and thought-provoking narratives. Movies offer an escape into different worlds, cultures, and perspectives, expanding my horizons and fostering a deeper understanding of the human experience. It's a wonderful way to relax, be entertained, and gain insights into various aspects of life.
What would you say to someone considering studying at RGU?

What do you enjoy most about living in Aberdeen?
What I enjoy most about living in Aberdeen is the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere that permeates the city. Aberdeen offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle often associated with larger metropolitan areas. The serene and laid-back nature of the city creates a wonderful environment for studying, unwinding, and enjoying a high quality of life.
Aberdeen's residents also play a significant role in fostering the city's peaceful ambiance. The people of Aberdeen are known for their friendliness, warmth, and welcoming nature. Interacting with locals often leads to pleasant encounters and engaging conversations, creating a sense of belonging and community.
