The Radio Studio is fitted with premium equipment resembling an industry-standard studio. The facility is used by RGU:Radio – the official student-run station for RGU - with shows on music, entertainment, sport, news and more. It is also used for applied teaching by a number of subject areas including media and journalism.
The studio can accommodate 1 presenter and 5 guests with full talkback facilities located over two sound treated rooms.
The studio operation is based around a custom built Clyde Broadcasting Synergy audio console comprising of On-Air, Production and Scheduling software. External users and presenters can be linked to broadcasts via the Sonifex TBU (telephone balancing unit) and Comrex outside broadcast unit.
