Life at RGU
Grampian Community Law Centre
The GCLC provides free, confidential and reliable legal advice to members of the local community who cannot access legal services elsewhere.
RGU's first Law Centre was founded in 2013 and steadily grew in numbers and interest every year.
In 2022, the RGU Law Centre was relaunched as the Grampian Community Law Centre.
Our Student Advisors work under the supervision of the Law Centre Manager, who is a qualified solicitor, and other Law School Academic staff members, to provide free, confidential legal advice, support and assistance to members of the public who might not otherwise be able to afford it.
The Centre is split into three main Clinics: Scotland’s first Climate Clinic, a ground-breaking and holistic Community Clinic which is the first of its kind in Scotland, and a new innovative virtual clinic in Orkney. The Clinics are supported by the School of Law and Social Sciences and the Research Team.
The Law Centre operates on an appointment-only basis whereby student volunteers, supported by academic staff, will discuss your matter with you, to establish if it falls within the range of areas that we are able to advise on.
