Apply to Study at RGU through Erasmus or Exchange

Get the application forms and information you need to apply to be an Erasmus or Exchange student at RGU.

Erasmus Students & Exchange Students from Outside the EU

You will have to complete the Registration before you can apply, this can be found on the right hand side of the Online Application form page.

After your application has been submitted online, it will be automatically submitted to RGU and you should receive an email within 5 working days to confirm receipt. If you have not received an email within this timescale please check your junk email folder.  If there is not an email there, please contact us on

Applications will not be considered without the required documents.


  • 01 May for students arriving in Semester 1
  • 01 November for students arriving in Semester 2

The Application Process

Incoming Erasmus Students must complete and submit an application form and an ECTS Learning Agreement to apply for an Erasmus study period at RGU.

Applications can only be submitted online. 

Students need to upload a letter of motivation and a transcript of records before the application can be submitted. Other documentation may be required, depending on which academic School you are applying to.  Further information is provided in the online portal. 


Once a student’s application has been accepted and processed, you will receive an email from us. This email will include the your student reference number which will allow you to apply for accommodation online. Please note that you cannot apply for accommodation until you have received your student reference number. 

English Language Requirements

All Erasmus & Exchange students are expected to have a level of competence in English to allow you to attend lectures, undertake course-work and examinations, both oral and written. 

School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic Practice - Requirements for Incoming Students

If you are applying to undertake an Erasmus study period with the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic Practice, you are required to provide the following in addition to the online application form and RGU ECTS Learning Agreement:

  1. Evidence of your vaccination against:
    • Hepatitis B
    • Rubella
    • Varicella Zoster
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Polio
    • BCG (or Mantoux test, if BCG not given in your home country)
    • Meningitis C (if you are under 25) 
  2. A Police or Criminal Records check
  3. Two Character references
