Study in Scotland

Come to study. Find Scotland. Find Aberdeen.

Scotland has a world-renowned education system, top-class universities and a reputation for producing creative thinkers. That's why more than 83,000 students from over 180 different countries choose to study in Scotland every year. You may come to Scotland to study, but you will find experiences that will last a lifetime in Aberdeen.

Aberdeen

Aberdeen is Scotland’s third largest city and has even been named one of the UK’s most desirable cities (QS Best Student Cities 2025). When you choose to study in our beautiful corner of Scotland, you can be guaranteed an unforgettable experience beyond the classroom.

As a compact city, our students enjoy a less-crowded space where many places can be easily reached by foot. Aberdeen is a bustling and energetic student city alive with festivals, events, food, drink, nightlife, arts and culture and even a beach! When studying here, you will also be just a stone’s throw from the majestic great outdoors of Aberdeenshire with plenty of opportunity for outdoor adventure, discovering historic fairy-tale castles and enjoying breathtaking scenery.

Aberdeen is also easy to get to. With its own international airport connected to major European hubs, as well as rail and bus services linking our city with the rest of Scotland and the UK (did you know it is less than three hours to Edinburgh and Glasgow? And only a 1hr 40mins flight to London?), Aberdeen is not only a great place to study but you can easily explore beyond our sparkling city too.

I feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful city, get to the beach after a 30-minute walk, run in a park, and be just a bus stop away from fantastic castles or hiking spots.
