What are the entry requirements for the LLB Law - Online Learning degree?
Entry Requirements
The Online LLB is designed as a SCQF level 9 programme. That is, it is a qualification which prepares successful applicants for roles which are specialist and professional and involve dealing with complex processes and situations. Find out more about :
Applicants will need to demonstrate that they have the intellectual ability and motivation to learn which is commensurate with successfully undertaking an accelerated LLB.
They will be able to do this through evidencing relevant qualifications, experiences and/or employment to the Course Leader as part of the application process, in addition to providing a reasoned case for wishing to embark upon the online LLB.
Examples of the necessary evidence could be through the following, alone or in combination (depending upon the level and quality of that evidence on a case-by-case basis)
- Professional or non-honours degree qualifications of an appropriate weight and value in a relevant discipline such as law, paralegal practice, business, management, journalism or similar.
- Experience of working in the fields noted above for sufficient time and/or at a sufficient level of seniority as to meet the requirements of the course, e.g. departmental or office manager.
- An honours degree in a relevant discipline noted.
Where the evidence cannot be demonstrated in one of the relevant fields, the Course Leader will consider applications which demonstrate the applicant's ability using any other appropriate evidence of qualifications, experience and/or employment. This could include: voluntary work, membership of professional bodies, public recognition awards, holding public office, committee membership of public or private sector panels, directorships, etc.
The Course Leader has the sole discretion to accept or refuse any application for entry to the course and must be satisfied that each applicant will be able to devote sufficient time to their studies to ensure successful completion, i.e. the awarding of an LLB (Ordinary) degree.
