Make an abstract window painting capturing views from the Art School. We’ll tape clear sheets of acetate to the windows and draw the view beyond, reimagining what we see outside through bold colours and abstract shapes.
To start, we’ll tape transparent acetate sheets directly onto the windows, creating a fresh, immersive canvas. As you look out from the Art School, you’ll capture outlines and shapes from various perspectives, using sharpies to draw.
Back in the studio, we’ll build on these initial line drawings with layers of acrylic paint, blending colours, adding textures, and experimenting with different techniques to create abstract, transparent paintings.
Throughout the session, we'll focus on developing composition, selecting a colour palette, and using tone to create depth and form. You'll also have the opportunity to experiment with textures and patterns, exploring various brushes and tools to create different mark-making effects.
Reimagine the view outside through a playful, expressive lens, transforming each pane into a vibrant visual story (A3 in size). With bold colours and abstract shapes, you’ll creatively reinterpret the landscape in a dynamic and colourful way.

Her designs are inspired by architectural structures and patterns, with influences from mid-20th-century art and scandinavian decorative arts. Crafted in her studio in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, she continues to explore the interplay between form and surface decoration.
An important part of her practice is supporting and teaching individuals of all ages to develop their creativity through courses and workshops.
