Young creatives are invited to explore the dynamic world of screen printing, learning how to transfer designs onto fabric. Using pre-exposed screens and DIY stencils, you’ll get to play with the bold branding from Gray’s Degree Show 2025, experiment, mix it up, and make it your own.
This workshop fosters creativity, imagination, and confidence while introducing key photography concepts in a fun and engaging way.
In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of textile screen printing, a technique that uses a mesh screen to transfer ink onto fabric. The workshop will be held in our textile print workshop, where you’ll have the opportunity to use your own screen and choose from a selection of pre-exposed designs from the branding of Gray’s Degree Show 2025.
You’ll be encouraged to play and experiment with the branding, creating your own interpretations /versions of the designs.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll explore layering techniques, learning how to print each layer to create dynamic compositions. Colour will be introduced using pigment printing pastes, and you’ll work with the Gray’s Degree Show 2025 colour palette to experiment with mixing and layering effects.
The session will wrap up with a group critique, where you’ll get to check out each other’s designs, reflect on your own work, and hear some feedback on the work you’ve made.
