The elective route in ‘Drug Analysis and Toxicology’ focuses on the analysis of pharmaceutical medicines and drugs. Lectures cover a range of topics including the toxic effects of chemicals, the ADME process, formulation of medicines, Pharmacokinetics, and the appropriate legislation. Students on this course will also benefit from practical experiments including the analysis of propranolol by LCMS, and amphetamines in urine by GCMS, along with appropriate sampling techniques.
