Year 1
With this Law and Technology postgraduate degree, you will be introduced to the key foundational knowledge of the law and develop your knowledge and understanding of legal tech and innovation, intellectual property, and the introduction to blockchain (depending on your choice).
Year 2
You will develop advanced knowledge and understanding of specialist aspects of Law and Technology, such as one of your core modules, Cyber Information and Security Law, as well as other electives.
Year 3
You will be expected to conduct an independent study and produce an original 15,000-word dissertation. Your dissertation topic must be relevant to the specialism.

This programme is unique and flexible. The course is a combination of online and on campus, full time or part time depending on choice. The Law and Technology stream aligns with other forms of LLM, with study options for on campus or online learning, allowing you to study from any location, designed to fit in around any work commitments.
Teaching will be delivered through the University's online virtual learning environment, CampusMoodle, allowing you to interact with tutors and fellow students around the world. You will be taught and supported by experienced industry professionals and academics who will recreate the same challenging interactive format of the on campus courses for those studying at a distance.
Online learning allows for a diverse range of teaching and learning methods to be employed, all supported by a dedicated technical team. The use of diverse and hi-tech learning methods promises the student a stimulating, interactive and informative learning experience.
For all study options, there are recorded lectures, weekly readings (in addition to your recommended text) and activities such as discussion forums, weekly. It is suggested that you read the module materials and the recommended additional readings weekly, with regular online interaction with students and tutors in the electronic forums and online activities being strongly encouraged. Written materials are increasingly supported with other forms of delivery.

What is needed for an LLM Law and Technology degree?
- Applicants will normally hold a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree or its equivalent in Law, Computing, Business, and other related disciplines.
- Applicants with relevant work experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
English Language Requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have an IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5, or an equivalent.
