Paper Houses Design from Deemouth Artist Studios will guide participants through a weekend of textile printing using the screen-printing process. Participants are invited to create their own designs with the aim to transfer these onto an organic cotton tote bag.
During the two-day workshop you will be taught the screen printing process and you will begin to gain confidence in printing independently.
Throughout the weekend you will learn how to develop colourways, experiment with shape, texture, and pattern to develop your own interesting designs.
Introduced will be a variety of techniques such as printing with paper stencils and developing one separation for an exposed screen. The use of pigment print pastes and foils will also be a focus.
Participants are invited to combine their learning to create a final print that can then be printed onto a plain, organic cotton tote bag provided.

Paper Houses Design
Paper Houses Design was created by textile designer Mhairi Allan; a stationary collecting, orange obsessing, triangle loving designer, with a calling to geometrics.
Her sketches are developed into surface patterns which are designed to transcend seasons. This local designer takes inspiration from man-made structures found within our surrounding landscape. She takes often-overlooked structures and creates bold and stylish patterns.
The products she designs are created to be both practical and versatile and are made for everyday use.
