Robert Gordon University (RGU) has announced a new Graduate Apprenticeship (GA) in BA (Hons) Business and Project Management, with applications now open ahead of the first intake in September 2026.

Designed in response to the growing demand for project management expertise across all sectors, the new programme enables apprentices to gain an applied understanding of core business and project management principles while remaining in full time employment.

Delivered by Aberdeen Business School, the course blends academic study with practical, work based learning. Apprentices will develop the skills needed to plan, lead and deliver projects effectively, while building the critical insight required to navigate emerging challenges within modern organisations.

Through a structured range of modules, students will apply theory directly to real workplace contexts, enhancing their ability to contribute strategically from the outset. Participants will also benefit from a strong internal network through collaboration with mentors and colleagues, as well as a diverse external network via RGU’s online learning environment, connecting them with peers across public, private and third sector organisations.

Vicky Stewart, RGU Lecturer and Course Leader for the GA in Business and Project Management, said: “We’re excited to introduce this new programme for 2026, reflecting the increasing importance of effective project management across all industries.

“This degree has been developed closely with employers to ensure apprentices gain both the theoretical grounding and the practical, work based skills needed to deliver successful projects in today’s fast moving business environment.

“By combining academic study with real world experience, apprentices can deliver immediate value to their organisations while advancing their own careers in roles such as Project Manager, Business Analyst or Contracts Manager.”

RGU’s Graduate Apprenticeship opportunities are delivered in partnership with the Scottish Funding Council and Skills Development Scotland. Aberdeen Business School is accredited by AACSB International (AACSB), an accolade achieved by only 6% of global Business Schools.
