RGU boosts creative entrepreneurship with new digital programme
Friday 07 January 2022
The book club is free and will meet monthly from February until July. Each month, members will receive a digital “book” full of creative entrepreneurship know-how which can be enjoyed at their own pace.
Each book will be followed by a two-hour, virtual networking event, where members can discuss the month’s topic whilst developing business knowledge, skills and the opportunity to network with like-minded creatives.
The project – which is being supported by Creative Scotland’s Create Network funding - is being launched by Robert Gordon University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group (EIG) and Gray’s School of Art’s creative unit, Look Again, as part of a drive to support the creative and cultural sector across the region.
Hilary Nicoll, Co-Director for Look Again Aberdeen at Gray’s School of Art, said: “We are really excited to be launching the Creative Entrepreneurship Book Club Format, in partnership with Robert Gordon University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group. The new book club is free and will take members on a creative journey that will really boost their entrepreneurship know-how. There’ll be the chance to get to know others working in the creative industry and to interact with others in the sector whilst gaining knowledge that will support them professionally.
“Robert Gordon University is committed to boosting skills across Scotland and offers a range of short courses to support business development such as RGU’s Creative Entrepreneurship post-graduate course. We hope that the new Book Club may offer a stepping-stone to one of these more in-depth courses and a shorter, alternative to anyone short on time due to work or other commitments.”
The deadline to register with the Book Club Format is Monday 17 January via Look Again Aberdeen. The first book will be released on Thursday 20 January prior to the first meeting in February.
Look Again Aberdeen is the creative unit of Gray’s School of Art at Robert Gordon University. The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Group at Robert Gordon University is committed to supporting the development of new businesses and inspiring innovation across Scotland.
