Robert Gordon University receives accreditation from the CQI
Thursday 23 August 2018
The MSc Quality Management, taught online by RGU’s Aberdeen Business School, is the first course to have received accreditation by the CQI, the chartered professional body dedicated to quality professionals.
The course is an online degree with multiple study options, enabling students to undertake the course without having to take a career break. Students will explore this dynamic discipline through theoretical and practical learning and discover how quality management can be applied to the work environment and so add value to an organisation.
Dr Moira Bailey, Academic Strategic Lead at the Department of People, Organisations and Practice at ABS, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been accredited by the Chartered Quality Institute. It is a great achievement and is testament to the work of our staff that our course is so highly regarded by the professional body.
“Quality management is increasingly becoming a core competence for managers of all disciplines and this accreditation adds great value to our qualifications as it allows students to enhance their career capital through professional body accreditation.
“We will be actively working with the local branch of the CQI to forge closer links and look forward to taking this collaboration further.”
Anne Stevenson, Academic Team Lead of the Department of People, Organisations and Practice at ABS, added: “We at Aberdeen Business School are proud to have achieved the accolade of CQI accreditation for our MSc Quality Management.
“Supporting students on their career journey is a top priority and engaging with industry and professional bodies such as the CQI, ensures our programmes are of the highest quality to ensure graduates are professionally trained.”
The CQI is the only chartered body dedicated to quality professionals. Students on the course will be able to join the CQI as student members and once they have passed their MSc, they will have the body of knowledge required to progress to Chartered Membership when their experience is sufficient.
