Favour Gana at Graduation
Favour Mana Gana has set her sights on a bright future after graduating with distinction in MSc Project Management from RGU.

Her time at RGU was marked by significant achievements, including placements with a major energy firm, a prestigious scholarship, and the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Performance at Aberdeen Business School.

While Favour’s first year of study was dedicated to lectures and tutorials, laying a strong foundation in project management principles. Her second year, however, was a transformative experience, as she secured a highly competitive full-year internship at Schlumberger Oilfield Limited.

Reflecting on this period, she said: "The benefits gained from this mode of study cannot be overemphasised. It provided me with hands-on experience and a platform to have a real impact on existing projects in the energy sector, bringing theories, concepts, frameworks, and models taught in the classroom to life."

In addition to her academic and practical experiences, Favour benefited greatly from RGU's student support services. The Employability Hub played a crucial role in refining her CV, while academic research and writing courses sharpened her research skills.

Favour is keen to make the most of the skills and experience she picked up during her postgraduate studies and is keen to begin a career in either communications or project management.

Favour said: “I would love to assume roles relevant to my course of study such as communication roles or project manage roles as these will provide opportunities to fully maximize developed skills while playing a major role in developing business processes and improving organisational practices on a global scale. I figured during my academic journey that where skill and passion meet, success cannot be limited.

“Having graduated with straight As in all course modules, received the Deans Award for Outstanding Academic Performance, the scholarship from the Project Management Institute and securing a one-year placement role at Schlumberger. It will be surprising to figure out that, these were not goals I had set at the start of my post graduate program.

“I however, only made up my mind to put in my best towards throughout my studies because pursuing a post graduate degree was a dream come true. All these achievements make me grateful to God, full of joy and ecstatic for my time spent at RGU. My family was instrumental in this journey following the unwavering support provided.”
