Ludovico Lanni - MSc Data Science
After creating a spreadsheet listing all the universities and courses he found interesting, evaluating them across various metrics, RGU’s MSc in Data Science, came on top in terms of its infrastructure, community and course modules.
Ludovico (24), worked as a Data Science Intern in a football analytics start-up based in Rome while looking for the right master course in Data Science. “RGU had the right mixture of practical and theoretical approaches, which is fundamental for a student of my age. Moreover, the international background of both lecturers and students was an incredible plus for creating an interesting learning environment. Finally, the possibility of being part of The Data Lab cohort was something that contributed to the attractiveness of the course.”
As a straight A student, Ludovico fully immersed himself in every aspect of the university experience including the RGU football club where he made many friends who shared his passion for the game. He also benefitted from the Therapet service organised to help students destress by spending time with canine friends.
Like many students, Ludovico was also impacted by the pandemic and returned to Italy to take care of his parents. “I am grateful to all the academic staff who provided students the flexibility to respond quickly to a challenging situation and for giving us all the necessary tools and instructions for switching to on-line learning. I completed my second term exam and my final project from Italy, without ever feeling abandoned by RGU.”
After graduating with distinction, Ludovico is now looking for the right job opportunity and is positive about his future outlook. “I believe RGU has been instrumental in improving not only my hard skills, but also my soft skills. I met a lot of kind people, I enjoyed sharing my knowledge with them and learning from their experiences and backgrounds. We all know it is a difficult time for job hunting, but I am confident that I will find what I am looking for.”
