What attracted you to your course at RGU?
The quality of teaching. My research showed that RGU provided one of the best teaching learning methods for students as such was one of the many green flags for me.
Before coming to RGU, what were your expectations? And now that you are here, have your experiences differed?
My main expectation was the teaching style and delivery. For instance, I have a totally different background from my current course (Computing). Yet, my expectations in terms of RGU teaching has been overly met. In that, lecturers do acknowledge complete beginners and help them grow over the 12 weeks period.
What’s the best thing about being an RGU student?
One of the best things about being an RGU student is the vast opportunities available to help students grow in leadership, communication, personal and general well-being.
Describe your favourite memory of RGU so far?
Having lecturers and staff who respect diverse cultures and opinions and are always willing to help students be their best.
Tell us about your most challenging or rewarding project, assignment or module. What did you like or dislike about it and how has it helped you?
My research project encompasses using AI algorithms. Initially it was challenging to come up with ideas and the right research synthesis method. Nonetheless, the varieties of postgraduate programs offered by the graduate school has been of tremendous benefit. Overall, I have enjoyed the journey as it involves learning and re-learning.
What is your favourite way to spend your time when you are not studying?
To go on tours in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Mostly on weekends, I love to visit the Art Gallery, cinema, the beach (during summer) and the parks.
What would you say to someone considering studying at RGU? Any advice you would share?
Students should consider the teaching quality, cost of living, serenity, and the homeliness of their preferred university. For me RGU meets these conditions.
What do you enjoy most about living in Aberdeen (city, food, people, entertainment, travel, etc.)?
The city and food. Aberdeen is a lovely city to behold. Very peaceful and student friendly.
