Moot Court

The Moot Court at the School of Law and Social Sciences provides a realistic setting in which law students can experience and practise mooting as part of their learning.

Opened in 2002 by the Lord President of the Court of Session, Lord Cullen, The Moot Court is used extensively by students taking BA Law and Management and LLB degrees, in subject areas such as Contract Law and Administrative Law.

The Moot Court is sited within a purpose-built TV studio and is fitted with court-room furniture and recording equipment allowing the moots to be documented and used as teaching aids. The opportunity to practise mooting skills by arguing fictional cases has proved to be an invaluable experienced enjoyed by our undergraduate students.
