Grampian Community Law Centre

Climate Clinic

The Climate Clinic is a pioneering initiative in Scotland that focuses on legal matters relating to planning, development, environment, and animal law.

About the Climate Clinic

The clinic aims to address the complex legal challenges arising from climate change and its impact on various sectors, including land use, development projects, environmental protection, and animal welfare.

As the first of its kind in Scotland, the Climate Clinic at RGU provides a platform for law students to engage with real-world issues at the intersection of law, the environment and climate change. Students working in the clinic have the opportunity to research and analyse legal frameworks, draft legal documents, provide advice to clients, and advocate for sustainable and climate-friendly practices in the legal field.

The Climate Clinic plays a crucial role in promoting awareness and understanding of the legal implications of environmental and climate change issues and supporting efforts to create a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society through the application of legal expertise.
