Aberdeen Ceramics Studio
Aberdeen Ceramics Studio (ACS) originated as a collaborative idea amongst Gray's staff and students to establish an open-source art studio centred around ceramics. Its purpose is to bring together students, graduates, and the local community, providing them with a space to engage with clay.
Recognising there was a lack of making studios equipped with kilns in Aberdeen, the founders of Aberdeen Ceramics Studio identified significant facilities that would enable people to explore the unique qualities of clay.
Aberdeen Ceramics Studio aims to create an environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and a sense of community. They conduct classes and offer memberships that cater to beginners, emerging makers, and professionals. Studio users enjoy unrestricted access to all the equipment expected from an established ceramics workshop.
Aberdeen Ceramics Studio has recently opened its doors and is now welcoming members and hosting classes for makers, whether that be from complete beginner through to experienced.
"We’re so pleased to welcome people from the North East’s creative community and begin building our own community of potter’s here in Torry. We’ve done a lot of work to get to this stage and we’re excited to see how the space develops into the future and the people we will work with." - Aimee Morris.
