Ravinderdev Sairaj - MA Communication Design

Ravinderdev Sairaj, master's graduate in Communication Design at Gray's School of Art
An international student from the vibrant state of Kerala in India, brings a unique perspective to his studies and draws on the concept of weaving to improve collaboration for art and data teams in digital marketing.

Ravinderdev Sairaj chose to cross the world from India to study at Gray’s because of the school’s international reputation.

He believed Gray’s would help him develop his skills in the latest digital and emerging technologies and prepare him for a career in the creative industry. He was also attracted to Aberdeen because the city seemed welcoming and had a large multicultural community.

“Gray’s School of Art was the natural choice due to its reputation for fostering creative talent and providing a platform for experimentation. I was also impressed by the leafy Garthdee campus that Gray’s is part of at RGU and the range of workshops and studios on offer.”

Ravinderdev’s experience has not disappointed and he highlights the school’s close links with the creative sector as being one of the best parts of his studies.

“Gray’s has been an incredible journey. The supportive environment and access to industry experts through events like ‘Guest at Gray’s’ have been instrumental in shaping my understanding of the design industry."

“My MA project is called ‘Tantu’, inspired by the concept of weaving. It’s a platform prototype designed to improve collaboration between data and art teams in digital marketing. The aim is to streamline workflows and enhance the overall effectiveness of campaigns.

“I hope people will see Tantu as a practical and innovative solution to a common industry challenge. I want them to understand the potential impact of the platform on the future of digital marketing.

“After graduating, I aim to secure a role as an Associate Creative Director, building on my previous eight years of industry experience. I aspire to contribute to the evolving landscape of digital design and believe that the skills I have learnt at Gray’s School of Art will help me bring Tantu to life.”
