Black Maternal Health Conference 2026

Monday 13 April 2026 12:00 - 14:00

Location: Room H230, Ishbel Gordon Building, RGU Campus

Ishbel Gordon Building, Robert Gordon University

The Black Maternal Health Conference 2026 is an event organised by the Pregnancy & Maternity Equality Action Group, in collaboration with the Race Equality Action Group at RGU. The conference centres on the theme “Rooted in Justice and Joy: Empowering Equity at RGU.”

This event is designed for students, staff, researchers, health professionals, and community members who are committed to addressing racial inequities in maternal health. It aims to raise awareness of the stark disparities Black women face, such as being four times more likely to die during pregnancy, childbirth, or the postnatal period, and to foster dialogue and action around:

  • Culture, racism, and leadership
  • Lived experiences of Black mothers
  • Allyship and advocacy
