RGU researchers are screening their new film, which documents the extraordinary work and huge challenges of community groups in the informal settlements of Nairobi, Kenya.
Please join us for a screening of the new film Resilience and Responses to Interconnecting Crises in Informal Settings.
The film is part of a research project, led by sociologists Dr Natascha Mueller-Hirth and Professor Stephen Vertigans, that explores the work, contributions and challenges of community-based organisations in informal settlements in Nairobi, Kenya. It provides a sense of the extraordinary contributions that community groups are making in the transformation of lives, but also shows the interconnected crises faced by individuals, organisations and communities in informal settlements such as Korogocho and Kibera.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A and a drinks reception.
