Community Seminar Series

Community Seminar Series

The School of Applied Social Studies is excited to be hosting a topical Community Seminar Series on Tuesday evenings every month. Open to all and free to attend.

The series comprises monthly lectures that are free and open to the public. Researchers from RGU and other institutions will present their work on timely issues.

The events will provide an opportunity not only to hear about fascinating ongoing research but to ask questions and to join discussions.

Our 2019-2020 Community Seminar Series events include talks on stereotypes of veterans, the role of referendums, Middle Eastern politics and religion, Aberdeenshire history, and the psychology of dating.

Upcoming Seminars

  • Do you come here often? - David Smith is a cognitive psychologist who specialises in evolutionary approaches towards memory, his PhD looked at how cues of fitness, such as vocal or facial masculinity and femininity, influence people’s recall and recognition.
