Finding Talent

Robert Gordon University students represent the best of local and international emerging talent, which is why we are consistently ranked as one of the top universities for students, graduate employment and graduate employability in the UK.

Across our courses we have work-related experiences and placement opportunities embedded within the course structure, as well as professional accreditations for various courses. Our focus is to ensure student and graduates are professional and equipped to meet your business’s needs.

Advertise your Vacancies

Robert Gordon University eHub Jobs is the perfect job platform to advertise your vacancies and enhance your company’s profile. By creating a company profile, you are improving your chances of attracting top talent; as students and alumni will have greater visibility to your company, your company’s values and events, even if you don’t have any current job vacancies. eHub Jobs gives you the ability to add videos, pictures, special offers and events to the page which may be of interest to the students and increase their employability.

Sponsorship

Email employability@rgu.ac.uk to find out more and discuss your options.

Placements

We offer a range of academic credit-bearing placements and projects across the university, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Placements can provide: the opportunity for students to consolidate and apply their learning; an invaluable chance to gain real life experience whilst gaining academic credits; experience to boost student employability through developing and expanding their professional network.

We firmly believe that a placement should be a mutually beneficial experience, with the host benefiting as much as the student.

For hosts, a placement can be a fantastic opportunity to:

  • Access students with up to date knowledge, fresh ideas and enthusiasm
  • Invest in an additional, cost effective resource
  • Contribute to CSR strategies – hosting a student can benefit your organisation by demonstrating your commitment to the next generation, their development and the local community.
  • Build closer links with the university and establishing connections with the student body
  • Establish a talent pipeline - many hosts treat placements like an extended interview, and an opportunity to get a first look at future talent
  • Provide supervision / mentoring experience to existing staff
  • Enable specific project work to be undertaken that otherwise would have to be delayed due to other priorities.

Timings of placements and projects vary from a few weeks to a full year, depending on the course. Our dedicated team of employability officers can offer a consultative approach, working with employers to connect businesses to the right students at the right time.
