Within your own relevant context, you will be challenged to demonstrate innovation in establishing and managing a minor injuries clinic. You will be supported by experienced lecturers, and expert external practitioners for an optimal blend of theory and practice. On successful completion, credits can be used within RGUflex to gain academic award.
- Critically appraise professional and legal issues relating to the role of the nurse managing minor injuries
- Evaluate the implications of the pathophysiological processes for patients presenting with minor injuries
- Critically appraise the skills required in consultation, history taking and assessment of patients presenting with minor injuries
- Critically analyse the decision making processes involved in the diagnosis and treatment of minor injuries
- Synthesize the concepts of evidence based practice that underpin the management of minor injuries through critical reflection.

Learning Methods
The module is delivered using a mixture of some face to face on campus study days and online methods (including online chat and discussion forums). Students will engage with directed and self-directed learning activities supported by the module team.
Assessment
This course is assessed via a face to face on campus Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
